Meet Mimm, our latest special needs dog. She is just so sweet and has had such a hard start to life.

Mimm was born without use of her two back legs due to dislocating kneecaps. Her kneecaps were all the way on the side, so her legs twisted under her body and she could not use them. But brave little Mimm learned to prop herself up on her front legs and to walk like a penguin dragging her back legs behind her.

A caring soul paid to have first one leg fixed, then the other and Mimm is now up and walking, running and playing and being a puppy. She is trying to make up for lost time and enjoying it! Though she is still a little shy when she first meets people, she is improving every day.

Mimi is doing really well since her knee surgeries. She is now using her back legs building up the muscles. She has a lot of upper body strength, but the back leg muscles are still catching up and they will continue to improve.

Sadly, even at 9 months, Mimm is showing signs of hip dysplacia in both hips.
It is not bad now but she will need to be on a daily Glucosamine/Condroitin supplement and in time, she will probably need to have surgery on both hind legs. The vet thinks she will be be a good candidate for FHO procedures.

Mimm appears to be a Hound/Shepherd mix, is about 9 months old and weighs around 40-45 lbs.

Mimm is a sweet, sweet girl and she deserves to find her own forever home, where she will be loved and spoiled in spite of her handicaps. Someone who will love her for the sweet little spirit that she is.

Can you give this little sweetheart the home she dreams about?
