This petite little girl appears to be a Beagle/Chihuahua mix and she only weighs 12 lbs.
Polly Molly is very shy at first, but seems to be coming out of her shell slowly since she was placed in one of our foster homes.
This is what her foster Mom says about sweet Polly Molly:
Polly Molly was very shy at first, but seems to be coming out of her shell and is already improving since I brought her home to foster this past Saturday.
When we went for a walk last night, her tail wagged for the first time! Yipeeh!
Up until now, I've had to ease her out of her crate, but this morning she emerged of her own will to go outside to potty.
This precious little girl is most definitely crate-trained and so far potty trained. She is quiet as a mouse, and has not made a sound. She's OK with other dogs in the dog park, and seems to be more timid of people ~ probably because we're so big and she's so tiny! I am sure she will get to love people more as she learns to trust the humans around her.
Being that she's so small, people initially think Molly is a puppy. She attracts a lot of attention at the dog park, and everyone wants to hold her ~ which Molly tolerates very well and getting more and more used to with lots of practice.
Molly is very good with children. As for cats, I am sure Molly would be petrified initially, and would need to be introduced gradually if a family with a cat fell in love with her and wanted to adopt her.
Molly is an extremely gentle, quiet and sweet "puppy" dog who would probably do best in a more quiet home. But she also needs a home that will take her on her beloved walks and keep her socialized with people and other dogs (e.g. by trips to the dog park).
What a tiny little treasure our Polly Molly is!
