***UPDATE February 13, 2007*** Cory's leg continues to improve, although there is still a bit of pesky infection remaining. He has made such an impression on his foster family that they decided to keep him. We certainly appreciate the commitment that his fosters made to him, taking him in and making him strong again. Their caring and dedication is priceless to us. We wish them well! Auf Wiedersehen, Cory!
***UPDATE November 20, 2006*** WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING ADOPTION APPLICATIONS FOR CORY! If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please fill out our on-line form at: http://www.gooddogrescueva.org/forms/
Cory taking a walk in the Shenandoah National Park and loving every second of it!
Cory's Road To A Better Life! First, we want to thank everyone for their generous contributions and kind words of encouragement for both Cory and our rescue. We would not be able to help dogs like Cory, Tangie, and Swampy (see "Successes" in the menu on the left) without your magnanimous support.
Update ~ September 25, 2021 Cory is doing much better than we had any right to expect. There is even a chance that the vet may be able to save his leg! He will always have a gimp (which was explained us as being different than a "limp" in that there is no pain associated with it; just a decrease in function), but if all goes well in the next few weeks, he will keep the leg.
Cory is scheduled for surgery October 12th, when the vet will try to remove the remaining bone splinters and cartilage pieces resulting from the gun shot trauma. The vet will also look for pockets of infection that have managed to elude the antibiotics Cory's been taking. There's no guarantee, but we are guardedly optimistic. Please keep him in your thoughts.
Cory continues to be a happy, friendly boy who loves everyone he meets and enjoys playing with his foster dog brothers and sisters. He is even going up and down steps now with no assistance! Goodness knows the word is over-used, but Cory really does seem like our miracle boy.
If you're happy and you know it, Clap your paws. If you're happy And you know it, Clap your paws. If you're happy and you know it, Then you really ought to show it, If you're happy and you know it, Clap your paws.
Cory ~ August 11, 2021

June 20, 2021 Cory smiling & happy in the home of one of our volunteers, where he will stay until all his medical needs are taken care of. After that Cory will go to the home of another foster or his Forever Home. As you can see Cory is in good spirits and seems to be enjoying all the love and attention he is getting.

Happy Days Are Here Again!

Stay tuned for more picture and updates!
